This half-day workshop will teach you the skills of candle-making so you can make your own, unaided, at home. In addition to using natural soy wax we introduce you to two other popular waxes: petroleum and beeswax. This is very much a hands-on course where you practice what you have learnt. At the end you take home the candles you have made plus a copy of our step-by-step candle-making book and a candle-making kit so you can make your own candles at home.

Part One

Create a “home” candle-making workshop, including the use of a double-boiler on your hob.
Following the step-by-step guide and our support you make your own pillar and container candles from soy wax.
Calculate all the materials yourself including identifying the correct wick and calculating the quantities of wax, dyes and fragrance oils.

Part Two

Learn about the different types of wax: their characteristics and when to use each type depending on your project and requirements.

Produce a taper candle using the traditional method of candle-dipping
Make a pillar candle using beeswax
Using different moulds, create a pillar candle with petroleum wax

Part Three

Take home a candle-making kit to get you started with your own candle-making projects

£135 per person (or 2 persons for £250) - this includes alL the equipment and materials plus coffee / tea / soft drinks and homemade cakes.  You need to have previously attended one of our Introduction candle-making workshops.

We are flexible with dates and these are individually agreed at the time of booking.
